Welcome to Atlas Retirement Planning & Wealth Preservation

JOE PUETZ RICP®

FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Joe has spent his entire career in the financial services industry, helping individuals and families prepare for retirement. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2005 with degrees in Finance and Banking.

Early in his career, Joe began to notice a recurring problem. Many retirement plans were built almost entirely around portfolio growth and market assumptions. Income was often treated as an afterthought—something to be created later through withdrawals.

But retirement does not work that way in the real world.

A successful retirement requires dependable income that can withstand market volatility, economic uncertainty, and changing tax environments. Without the right structure, even well-funded portfolios can become vulnerable to sequence risk and unstable income.

That realization led Joe to develop a more structured approach to retirement planning and ultimately to establish Atlas Retirement Planning. Today, his work centers on helping clients design retirement income strategies that prioritize stability first and portfolio alignment second.

This philosophy is reflected in the firm’s planning framework, the Total Income Blueprint™, which focuses on creating dependable income streams designed to support long-term retirement security.

Joe lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife, Jill, a physician. They have two children, Brynn and Briggs. Outside of work, Joe enjoys staying fit, Jill is an avid Creighton basketball fan, and much of their free time is spent watching their kids compete in sports and taking them to Creighton basketball and Omaha Supernovas games.
